Today I went cherry picking for the first time in Young, NSW, which is known as the Cherry Captial of Australia. It is about 2 hours from Canberra. The orchard we went to charged 5 dollars per kilo for self-picked cherries and 8 dollars per kilo for boxed cherries. After picking cherries (and swatting flies), my friends and I went to have cherry ice cream at a jam factory called JD's, which also sold cherry port, cherry wine, chocolate covered cherries, cherry pies, and many other related products. It was a great day! |
